Somewhere over Alaska
|
Friday, June 9, 2006 . . . All strapped in and ready to go in Atlanta, we sat at the gate for an hour and a half before pushing back. We made up about an hour of it and landed in Anchorage about 9:15 p.m. We flew over snow-covered mountains for a long, long time before landing. That silver, red, and blue thing is the big engine of our Delta jet. |
Anchorage Airport sports stuffed polar bears and record-shattering fish.

From our 11th floor window at the Hilton (tallest in Anchorage at 18 stories), 12.30 a.m. June 10. Shortly afterwards, Jeanette and J.E. arrive from Tampa.
