Margaret Jane Dillard was born Sep 30, 1836, married Samuel Lafayette Pittard Nov 18, 1858, and died Dec 14, 1922. Margaret kept the homefires burning after Sam enlisted to fight the Yankees, raised six children, lived to be 86 years old, and commemorated perhaps her only trip to Atlanta by having this portrait made at Ivie Studio, 40 1/2 Whitehall St., Atlanta, GA. |
